In the very first round there was a big derby between China and Brazil. The Asian team scored a straight sets victory, with Ruoqi Hui and Xiangyu Gong being the top scorers in the winning side with 16 points each.
Serbia had no troubles against Switzerland, so they wrote down a 3-0 win. Maja Savić was the best scorer of the game with 12 points.
Finally, Belgium outplayed Turkey after 4 sets – 3-1. Freya Aelbrecht dominated the match with 23 points.
