Brazil captain Fabiana Claudino: “We started the game well, but unfortunately we made more errors as the game proceeded and could not keep up with the performance until the end of the match.

Serbia captain Maja Ognjenović: “Today is an important day for us because we achieved our first ever win against Brazil. We are still not playing as great as we like, but we should be happy because we won so I hope we can play better and better as the tournament goes on. Congratulations also to Brazil for putting up a good fight. Today we played many long rallies and nice points and we have learnt a lot from the match.”

Brazil coach Jose Roberto Lages Guimaraes: “Congratulations to Serbia for playing so well.  My team need to improve on our serves and blocks. Mihajlovic scored 26 points, Boskovic scored 30 points and the whole Serbia team played better than we did.”

Serbia coach Zoran Terzić: “I would like to congratulate both teams for such an amazing game.  Today we played a lot of interesting points and long rallies, and I think the spectators have really enjoyed this game.  As Ognjenovic said, this is an important game for us because in the history of Serbian volleyball this is the first time we won against Brazil.  We are not playing to our full potential yet; nonetheless we should be satisfied about this game.”
