Women’s defending champions Rabita Baku will wait until October 15 to play their first game, but three-time men’s defending champions Trentino will be on the court on day one of competition.
Most days will feature four matches in total – one in the morning and three after midday. The first day will start with women’s Group D action between Kenya Prisons and Lancheras de Catano from Puerto Rico at 10.00, local time (07.00 GMT). The men’s competition will kick off at 15.00, with Brazil’s Sada Cruzeiro taking on Mexico’s Tigres de Nuevo Leon, then Poland’s Skra Belchatow will face Zamalek of Egypt at 17.00 and Italy’s Trentino Diatec will play Qatari team Al-Rayyan at 19.00.
Pool play will continue from October 13 to 17, with semifinals being held October 18. The finals will take place on October 19 – starting with the women’s bronze medal match at 10.00, then the men’s bronze at 15.00, continuing with women’s gold at 17.00 and finally the men’s gold at 19.00.
