Back in 2015, Kamnik suffered the injury that sidelined him for nine months. At end of 2015 he returned on court, but after a few minutes spent in a jersey of Arkas, he picked up another injury.
In that terrible moment, he only thought about retiring. A few days later, he shocked the fans, saying that he needs a one-year break from volleyball.
After this decision, Kamnik returned to Slovenia and for season 2016/2017 he took over Maribor. Some players of this Slovenian team suffered injuries before the start of the winners’ stage and Kamnik has made a big decision – to return to the court.
In his first game after a long break he was the top scorer of the game against Salonit (17 points). Furthermore, he scored the best point in Slovenian league so far this season. What a move for the comeback!
