The 1st round of voting for the 2016/17 Wov Dream Team is underway. HERE you can find everything you need to know about the Poll, while do not forget that you can vote at our WorldofVolley Home Page and at our WorldofVolley Poll Page.

Before giving your vote so some player, here are some things you might want to know about them…

Today, we are presenting you the OUTSIDE-HITTERS.

Sam Deroo (Zaksa): Just look at the things he has won during the 2016/17 season. Sam Deroo and his team Zaksa were the champions of Poland and the winners of the Polish Cup. With two of the most precious domestic trophies in his hands, Sam Deroo has definitely deserved to be included into this competition.

It’s up to you to decide whether he will find a place in the WoV Dream Team.

Osmany Juantorena (Lube Civitanova): He is still one of the most dominant outside-hitters in the volleyball world. Osmany Juantorena has arrived in Lube with only one wish – To win trophies. And in this season he has finally managed to do so.

Lube won the Italian Championship, while Juantorena was one of the best players of the season in Serie A1. On top of that, he won a bronze medal in the 2016/17 CEV Champions League.

Wilfredo Leon (Zenit Kazan): The only difference from the previous season for Wilfredo Leon is that this year he was not named the MVP of the CEV Champions League.

But who cares!

Leon was brilliant in the 2016/17 campaign and he has won plenty of trophies with Zenit Kazan. CEV Champions League, Russian Championship, Russian Cup, Russian Supercup… Leon has put his hands on all of those cups.

Ivan Zaytsev (Sir Safety Perugia): Last summer, Ivan Zaytsev decided to return home, to Sir Safety Perugia, and his first season had some ups and downs. Still, despite staying without a single trophy in the 2016/17 campaign, Zaytsev has showed his class in numerous games. After all, he helped Perugia to reach the CEV Champions League Finals for the first time in club’s history.

Earvin Ngapeth (Azimut Modena): Winning “just” the Italian Supercup in the 2016/17 campaign is not something that matches the ambitions of Earvin Ngapeth. But, the Frenchman was without any doubt one of the best players in Serie A1 in the previous season. He won many games for his Modena almost singlehandedly, so this player definitely deserves to be among the candidates for the WoV Dream Team.

Bartosz Kurek (PGE Skra Belchatow): This was a very specific season for Bartosz Kurek. Firstly, he wanted to take a year off due to some private problems, however PGE Skra Belchatow offered to help and Kurek accepted to play for the Polish giant in the 2016/17 campaign.

He also had to change his primary position, so he played as the outside-hitter in Skra, but that did not prevent him from being one of the best players in PlusLiga.

Robert Kromm (BR Volleys): BR Volleys had an outstanding season, while many credits for that go to Robert Kromm. He was the team top scorer in many important games, while he helped the Berlin powerhouse to defend the throne in Germany and to qualify for the CEV Champions League Final Four.

What more can you ask from a 33-year old player?

Yoandy Leal (Sada Cruzeiro): He is simply constantly playing at the highest possible level. After all, being one of the best players in the best volleyball team in the world says enough.

Leal helped Sada Cruzeiro to win FIVB Club World Championship, South America Club Championship, Brazilian Superliga and Brazilian Supercup. All of that in a single season!
