Defending champions General Service Unit, Ulinzi and Forest Rangers are among the teams participating in the men‘s competition.

The women’s category features champions Kenya Pipeline, last year’s runners-up Kenya Prisons – who represented Africa in the 2012 Club World Championship in Doha lat week – Kenya Commercial Bank and Nairobi Water.

“We changed the initial start date of November 5 to give teams more time to prepare,” said national secretary Evans Wasike. “We’ve tentatively settled on Nyayo National Stadium as the playoffs venue because Moi International Sports Centre will not be available during the duration of our event,” he explained.

KVF‘s National Executive meeting on October 20, 2012 also announced that all 11 teams that participated in the men’s division one will be retained and four more promoted from division two to form a 15-team league next season.

The promoted teams are: Kenya Airways, Kenya Meat Commission, Co-Operative Bank and Eldoret Stima.

The women’s league will continue to feature eight teams.
