Many big and rich clubs in Europe, and in South America as well, will be disappointed to hear that Peruvian player Ángela Leyva renewed the contract with the team in her home country whose jersey she has worn in the last six season – Universidad San Martín de Porres!
Thus, a 20-year-old receiver, the best scorer of the Peruvian Championship last season, decided to reject the offers from abroad that she received this summer and stay in the squad of the Liga Nacional Superior de Voliebol runners-up.
After completing several more transfers, San Martín announced the roster for the 2017/2018:
Allison Mayfield (USA), Alicia Perrín (CAN), Flavia Montes, Grecia Herrada, Lucía Magallanes, Yurico Ventura, Ángela Leyva, Andrea Urrutia, Maguilaura Frías, Janice Torres, Leslie Leyva, Maricarmen Guerrero, Astrid Ruíz, Johana Salazar and Paola Villegas.
