ASPTT MULHOUSE caught an excellent start especially via the contribution of their middle-blockers, Iuliia Ferulik and Alina Ilie (Albu), going up 10:5 in the first set; with the help resulting from the attacks killed by Anna Rybaczewski and Tatjana Bokan, ASPTT MULHOUSE widened the gap (16:10). Dinamo stormed back with Ivana Zburova (21:16) and eventually drew level at 23 via the attacks of Ana-Maria Stefan and Regan Hood. Still, the hosts could not finalize their comeback as an attack by Ferulik and a mistake committed by Hood contributed the final 25-23 for ASPTT MULHOUSE.
However, Dinamo did not lose composure and dictated the pace of the game in the second set going up 16:8 to wrap it up with a massive 25-14, with Hood standing out in attack and captain Alida Marcovici helping out with her blocks. A similar story unfolded in set 3 where Hood and once again Marcovici paced Dinamo (8:6, 16:8) and this time it was Stefan that sealed it at 25-20 for the provisional 2:1. That show of the home side continued also in set 4 where Dinamo cruised to the front right from the start (11:5), showing great skills in offense with Hood and Stefan, eventually going for a terrific 25-13 to claim its first historic home win in Europe’s most elitist competition.
