The match started with a series of errors from the service line. Vital Heynen has called for a time-out at the score 11-8 for Belgium. A few minutes later, Andrea Anastasi had to call for a time-out, as the Poles created a 6-1 scoring run. At the very end of the set, Poland managed to make a comeback from 21-23 to 25-23, thanks to the amazing services of Jakub Kochanowski, Michal Kubiak’s block and Damian Schulz domination at the net.
In the second set, Poland needed less time to defeat the rival. They had 16-10 lead and there was no space for the Belgian boys to make a comeback. This part of the game ended with a clever play by Fabian Drzyzga, 25-16.
The Belgian side didn’t want to go to the hotel that fast so they started the third set with a 7-1 score. The strong start provided them to control the set and to win it 25-20.
The previous set got Heynen very nervous so he pushed his players to take this part of the game very seriously and they have done it, beating the rival 25-22 to clinch the game.
