The match against Katowice was only a matter of formality for the current Plus Liga vice-champions Zaksa who already sealed an automatic ticket for the playoff semifinals as the leaders in the standings. On the other hand, Katowice had a slim chance of claiming No.6, which is the last place that secures a spot in the quarterfinals, even before the match against Zaksa.
Good news for Zaksa fans is a return of Belgian outside hitter Sam Deroo (16 points today) after a long break caused by injury. Aleksander Śliwka was the best scorer for the Polish runners-up with 18 points. Karol Butryn scored 12 points for Katowice.
