POL W: Cuban Salas shines as Chemik come back from 0-2 to 3-2 against Legionovia

Grupa Azoty Chemik Police defeated DPD Legionovia Legionowo in Round 2 of the 2019/20 Polish Women’s Volleyball Championship after staging a huge comeback.

Led by the Greek newcomer Olga Strantzali, who converted some impossible attacks and finished the match with 26 points, the home side of Legionovia had a great start of the Round 2 match in the 2019/20 Liga Siatkówki Kobiet regular season against Chemik. But, after losing the first two sets, Super Cup winners Chemik moved into a higher gear and made a full turnaround: 3-2 (24-26, 23-25, 25-18, 25-16, 15-8). Cuban Wilma Salas put down 28 points to her account for which she was awarded the MVP of the match. Natalia Mędrzyk added 15 points, including 5 aces. The team under the command of Turkish expert Ferhat Akbaş has two wins, while Legionovia are at 0-2.

E.LECLERC Radomka Radom imposed as a tough rival to the champions ŁKS Commercecon Łódź and even won the first set. But could not keep the high level of play until the end – ŁKS took all three points in the clash. Monika Bociek top-scored for the winning side with 21 points (5 kill blocks), while Serbian Katarina Lazović added 20 points (4 aces) and was named MVP of the match. Azerbaijani international Marharyta Azizova tallied 21 points for Radomka. Sonia Kubacka made 6 kill blocks.
