Cannes prevailed over Tours in the roller coaster of Round 3 match in the 2019/20 Ligue A Masculine regular season that ended with a tie-break: 3-2 (25-17, 17-25, 25-17, 11-25, 15-13). Thus, the team from the French Riviera left Tours with a third defeat in three games, which last time happened to them more than 20 years ago. On the other hand, Cannes continued their euphoric beginning of the season and wrote down a third victory that placed them just behind provisional leaders Tourcoing in the charts. Romanian Adrian Aciobăniţei top-scored for Cannes with 18 points, followed by Ukrainian Oleksiy Klyamar who put down 17. Slovenian Danijel Koncilja made 4 kill blocks. As for Tours, Latvian Hermans Egleskalns poured in 23 points, while Cameroonian Nathan Wounembaina scored 19. He made 4 kill blocks, just like Estonian Timo Tammemaa.

Sète is one more team with the perfect record after three rounds. They confirmed their amazing 2019/20 Ligue A campaign by beating Nice on the road with a 3-1 (20-25, 25-16, 25-17, 25-23). It was a special match for Sète head coach Mladen Kašić. Croatian returned to a place in which he spent as much as 19 years of his coaching career and from where he went to Sète in the offseason.

By scoring 31 points for the second time in three games, Slovakian Peter Michalovič led Nantes Rezé to a four-set win against Poitiers.
