Since he had a great experience in the last season he had decided to extend his contract with the Japanese team immediately after the end of the 2018/2019 season.

Antonin, you are staying for one more season in Toray. Was that a difficult decision for you or you made it in a few minutes?

“No, it was an easy decision for me. I really had a huge desire to sign one more year for Toray. I’m feeling good in this club who takes care of me.“

How far can Torray go in the season 2019/2020?

“As far as possible. We are ambitious, just like the last season. I hope we can get a medal in the championship and/or in the cup.“

How did you spend the summertime?

“With my wife and son, family & friends. I did spend a lot of time at home & we also had some great holiday trips.“

Are you ready to contribute even more compared to the last season in V-League?

“Always! I’m giving my best to perform at the highest possible level on the court. I still feel very good and I can’t wait to start the season.“

The French national team didn’t manage to grab a medal at the EuroVolley. What are your impressions?

“It’s a great team. I think that they are ready to accomplish very good things in the international volleyball scene. I’m sure they’ll make it in January, they will qualify for Tokyo Olympics. They deserve it.“

While watching the games of France, did you have any desire to jump in and help your teammates?

Ha-ha“- laughs Rouzier and adds – “I think they don’t need me anymore! French national team story is over for me, I have wonderful memories with the national team, but this chapter of my life is now closed. I’m trying to focus on my career and keep a good physical condition.“
