Alessandro Chiappini will continue as head coach of Hungary’s women’s national team until 2028, following an early contract extension ahead of his original 2026 end date.

Chiappini, who took charge in March 2023, has led the team through notable achievements, including a European Championship appearance and qualification for the Golden European League Final Four after a seven-year gap. Under his leadership, the team has focused on building a young, competitive squad with long-term goals.
“I feel at home in Hungary,” Chiappini said. “We’re working toward a strong, united team with long-lasting success.”
The Hungarian Volleyball Federation emphasized their confidence in the Italian coach’s vision and praised the progress made so far.
Hungary will face Romania this weekend in the Golden League semi-finals in Sweden, aiming to reach the final after a dramatic comeback win against the same opponent just weeks ago.
