Olympic champions Italy cruised past world champs Serbia in straight sets, extending their perfect run in the 2025 Women’s Volleyball Nations League. Meanwhile, the Netherlands edged Belgium in a spirited derby to stay in Finals contention.

Italy Stay Perfect, Serbia Stumble
Italy continued their dominance with a 3-0 win (25-17, 26-24, 25-20) over Serbia in Apeldoorn. Paola Egonu led with 17 points, while Ekaterina Antropova added 9. Serbia’s Tijana Boskovic scored 14, but her team remains near the bottom of the standings at 1-9. With the win, Italy are now 10-0 and have officially booked their ticket to the Finals in Łódź.
Dutch Triumph in Apeldoorn Derby
Backed by a home crowd, the Netherlands defeated Belgium 3-1 (26-24, 25-22, 22-25, 25-22). Captain Nika Daalderop scored 18 points, helping her team climb to ninth place and keep their Finals hopes alive. Belgium’s rising star Liese Verhelst impressed with 17 points in her first VNL start.
