Zaksa-vs-Aluron
ZAKSA secured first place after the regular season in the 2020/21 Polish Men’s PlusLiga earlier and such a situation let their head coach Nikola Grbić make rotations in the lineup, giving chances to backups in the match against 6th placed (prior to the match) Aluron. They took advantage of it and inflicted the second defeat in a row to ZAKSA in the competition. Aluron swept rivals by a 3-0 (25-18, 25-23, 25-19) mostly thanks to Mateusz Malinowski (13 points) and Brazilian Flávio Gualberto (4 blocks).
In just one week, Asseco Resovia Rzeszów managed to down two major title contenders – Grupa Azoty ZAKSA Kędzierzyn-Koźle and VERVA Warszawa ORLEN Paliwa. Resovia took revenge on the team from the Polish capital for the recent defeat in PlusLiga of 3-2 and beat them in 4 sets today. Karol Butryn top-scored the winning side with 19 points, while Fabian Drzyzga served 4 aces.
