POL M: PlusLiga playoffs start with wins of Skra and Trefl

PGE Skra Bełchatów and Trefl Gdańsk emerged victoriously from opening matches of the 2020/21 Polish Men’s Volleyball Championship playoffs.



Probably the biggest classic of the Polish men’s club volleyball was on a schedule at the start of the 2020/21 PlusLiga playoff quarterfinals. The 4th-seed PGE Skra Bełchatów downed no.5 Asseco Resovia Rzeszów in a game that was marked with numerous mistakes on both sides of the court: 3-1 (25-23, 11-25, 25-20, 25-19). Mateusz Bieniek top-scored the winners with 16 points of which 5 came from the block.

The 3rd-seed Trefl Gdańsk justified the role of the favorites and defeated no.6 VERVA Warszawa ORLEN Paliwa in Game 1. German Moritz Reichert was Trefl’s top scorer tonight with 19 points.
