The 3rd-seed Lokomotiv (Mariya Frolova 17 points) defeated no.10 Enisey in 4 sets in Game 2 of the Preliminary Round (1/8 finals) of the 2020/21 Russian Women’s Superliga Parimatch playoffs and, with a total score of 6-1 (3-0 in Game 1), advanced to the final tournament.
The 6th-seed Uralochka-NTMK beat no.7 Lipetsk in the tie-break (won the 1st game by a 3-0). The middle blocker of the Ekaterinburg side Elizaveta Kotova made a blocking display that will be long remembered – 13 blocks (25 points in total)!
The 8th-seed Minchanka (Viktoryia Siakretava 21 points) staged an upset by eliminating no.5 Leningradka. The club from Belarus won Game 2 by a 3-1 and, with a total score of 5-4, went through.
The 9th-seed Proton lost to no.4 Dinamo Krasnodar (Angelina Sperskaite 23 points) in the rematch in 5 sets but due to a victory in the 1st leg of 3-1 made it to the Final Six.
Dinamo Ak-Bars and Dinamo Moscow were directly qualified for this stage of the tournament. The former will host it in Kazan from March 28 to April 3. Dinamo-Ak Bars, Lokomotiv, and Proton will play in Pool A, while Dinamo Moscow, Uralochka-NTMK, and Minchanka will play in Pool B.
