Grupa Azoty Chemik Police beat Developres SkyRes Rzeszów in Game 4 of the spectacular playoff finals of the 2020/21 Polish Women’s TAURON Liga by a 3-1 (25-23, 23-25, 25-22, 25-15) and defended the title. As many as 3 out 4 encounters in the series ended in the tie-break – all except today’s in which Serbian Jovana Brakočević-Canzian scored 23 points on the winning side and was named MVP of the finals.

The team coached by Turkish Ferhat Akbaş started the season sluggishly, chasing opponents from the top of the table for almost the entire season. Chemik finished the regular season in 3rd place thus beating the odds in the final as they overtook the no.1 Developres for the trophy.

The Police-based club became the Polish champion for the 9th time in history. Actually, since 2014, there has been only one season in which Chemik didn’t sit on the throne of the national league – in 2019.
