“This was a good test for us even though we have to admit that Poland was not yet at their best” said Serbian coach Igor Kolakovic. “Three victories against a world-class opponent do nevertheless give us plenty of confidence. We still have a couple of friendlies before the start of the European Championship as we are set to play Bulgaria and Egypt, and this way we shall be able to prepare well for the start of the EuroVolley in Denmark”.
“We had many ups and downs in these matches; we played well for a while but then started making mistakes” commented Poland mentor Andrea Anastasi. “We have to find much more consistency. These matches are very important for me to understand where we stand right now”.
At the upcoming VELUX EuroVolley 2013 scheduled for September 20-29, Poland will start their campaign in Gdansk playing there France, Slovakia, and Turkey while Serbia will embark on their quest to retain their title in Herning crossing there the ways of Slovenia, Finland, and the Netherlands.
