“The game with RZESZOW was a very good test for us before we play Galatasaray in the first round of the CEV DenizBank Volleyball Champions League” says head coach and former international star Sebastian Swiderski who replaced Daniel Castellani at the helm of the team. “I hope that we will be able to learn our lessons from this match. We have seen that the players that were signed for the coming season have already found their place in the group. This applies to our young opposite Grzegorz Bociek as well as to our Dutch middle blocker Dick Kooy” Swiderski continues. “This means that our attack and block shall be the strengths we can rely on for our debut in the CEV DenizBank Volleyball Champions League with Galatasaray. However, we shall not underestimate our opponent at all and be focused right from the start of the game to catch a good start in this campaign.”
Last year Zaksa qualified for the final four and ended up in fourth place in Omsk after losing to Italy’s Bre Banca Lannutti CUNEO in the semis and the bronze medal match to Zenit KAZAN of Russia. After a good start in the PlusLiga where they beat Czarni RADOM, the players around Sebastian Swiderski hope to achieve the same also next week as they take on Galatasaray.
