Chemik informed that Drews left Poland without an excuse and returned to the United States. The outside hitter explained her decision to her friends in the Whatsapp group about leaving for her native country with the war in Ukraine. The officials of the TAURON Liga titleholders tried to tell Drews that it’s safe in Poland, but on February 25, she didn’t appear at the briefing and training before the Polish Cup match. A day later, a 23-year-old player flew to the USA, not listening to the advice and assurances of the club. Thus, Chemik will apply for disciplinary punishment of Drews with the International Volleyball Federation (FIVB) and the US federation (USA Volleyball).

Drews, who has just started her first professional season, has a valid contract with Chemik for the ongoing and next season.
