KS DevelopRes Rzeszów has officially confirmed a coaching change, with former head coach Stephane Antiga returning to lead the team for the remainder of the season.
Antiga Takes Over After Michal Mašek’s Departure
Earlier, the club announced its decision to part ways with Michal Mašek due to differing visions for the team’s future. Both parties agreed that ending their collaboration at this stage of the season was the best solution.
Mašek, who had been in charge during the 2024/25 season, received thanks from the club for his efforts and contributions. His successor was widely speculated to be Alessandro Chiappini, but the club instead opted for a familiar face—French coach Stephane Antiga.
Antiga’s Triumphant Return
Antiga previously coached DevelopRes Rzeszów between 2019 and 2024, leading the team to multiple successes. His return is seen as a strategic move to ensure stability and a strong push in the decisive phase of the season. Given his deep understanding of the club and many of its current players, he is expected to transition seamlessly into the role.
The club confirmed that Antiga has signed a contract until the end of the current season.
“We welcome Stephane Antiga back to Rzeszów and wish him success in leading the team forward,” the club stated.
Stéphane Antiga started the season as the head coach of the Italian powerhouse Savino Del Bene Scandicci but parted ways with the club after just the second round, despite securing two victories. Since then, he has been without a coaching engagement.
