“We are honored that such an excellent coach decided to lead LOTOS Trefl. This shows us that our club is going in the right direction. After the last season, together with the management, we decided to put an experienced coach on bench who will help us in rebuilding of the team and the further development of the club. The task for the new coach is primary a better result, the quality of the game and the development of our talented young players. I am convinced that this season we will move forward, which will allow us to get closer to the top of PlusLiga” – said Kazimierz Wierzbicki, owner of Gdansk club.
Anastasi is the ninth head coach of Gdansk in its history and the first who is coming from abroad.
“Offer of LOTOS Trefl had two elements that convinced me to come. First – always in my life I liked to take the challenge. Last season the team finished on the tenth place and in the next season we will absolutely be better. The second argument in favor of signing a contract in Gdansk is the potential of this place. I feel myself very well in this city and it is everything you need for the development – a beautiful hall, people with passion and committed sponsors. The only thing missing is the results, but I believe that together we can change that” said Andrea Anastasi.
