Poland’s JASTRZEBSKI Wegiel did not disappoint their fans as they easily claimed their first home match in the 2015 CEV DenizBank Volleyball Champions League routing Bulgaria’s champions Marek Union-Ivkoni DUPNITSA (25-13, 25-16, 25-15).

“We played a good match and got the chance to test all players on the roster,” said home mentor Roberto Piazza. “It was a pleasure to see that everyone was ready to join the actions and to fight.”

We were concentrated from the start to the end and we played a good match,” said home hero and match winner Mateusz Malinowski. “We can be optimistic as far as the next matches are concerned.”

“We played really bad and did not expect such performance from us tonight,” said the team captain of Marek Union-Ivkoni DUPNITSA, Gjorgi Gjorgiev. “However, we are having problems right now as three players are currently injured. It is hard to play when one of your wing spikers has to take over the spot of the opposite. I hope that these guys will recover soon and come back to play.”

“We have a young team and we are taking our lesson from each match,” added head coach Nayden Naydenov. “The difference between these teams is just too big.”
