The Russian team lost the second leg of CEV Cup finals against PGE Atom Trefl Sopot, in Poland, by 3-1 and had to play the Golden Set to claim the title. First game ended by 3-0 for Krasnodar.
The most dramatic part of this game, the Golden Set began with a small, but very important advantage of Krasnodar – 6-3.
At the first technical time-out, Krasnodar had a margin of 4 points – 8-4. Lyubov Sokolova led her squad ahead – 9-4. The time-out by Trefl’s coach Lorenzo Micelli did not change things at the court since Sokolova continued to score – 10-4.
Trefl’s substitutes won 3 points in a row – 10-7 – so Krasnodar’s coach Konstantin Ushakov was forced to call a time-out.
Fe Garay successfully completed counter attack for 11-7, but the passion from the stands led Trefl to 11-10 and to another timeout by Krasnodar’s mentor.
Tatiana Kosheleva (37 points!) scored two in a row – 13-10. Block from the guests brought them 14-10. Finally it was 15-10!
