The players of Lotos Trefl GDANSK have to get ready for what promises to be a tough season. They will be trying to defend their second place from the last edition of Poland’s national league and will also make their historic debut in the CEV DenizBank Volleyball Champions League – Men.
After the summer break the players of Lotos Trefl passed their medical checks and on Tuesday morning they started their first workouts in the gym.
“I am satisfied with the physical condition of my players. We still have a lot of time to prepare and get back in shape because our campaign will officially begin at the end of October. There is a very tough season ahead of us because everyone will expect more from our team this time. Last season we did not know what kind of team we would be and what we could achieve. We had ambitions, but no one expected that we would end up being vice-champions of the PlusLiga and that we would won the Polish Cup. Now we are confident, because we have not changed too much in our team. We have a lot of time to work on the individual skills of our players because the game system will not be much different from the one we used last year, and so everyone should be at ease with it. We want to go down the road which we have started last season,” says the Italian-born mentor of Lotos Trefl , Andrea Anastasi.
