The coach of Polish title holders KPS Chemik Police accused CEV that it places the emphasis on marketing more than on a competitive side of volleyball, especially in the Champions League.
„It makes no sense to make a pool where there are three teams that could be safely seeded in three different pools and many pools in which there are normal teams. The CEV must stop doing marketing and think more about the sporting side,“ Cuccarini said in an interview for Italian TV station ’Cremona 1’ which was transferred by gazzetta.it.
Chemik’s pool in the CEV Champions League consists of reigning European champions Eczacıbaşı VitrA İstanbul, Italian champions Pomì Casalmaggiore and the Czech title holders VK AGEL Prostějov.
