Lukáš Ticháček filed an application for recognition as a Polish citizen, a few months ago, and his request was granted!

As Ticháček fulfills all requirements, the formalities were taken care of and the Czech became a citizen of Poland. Also, the setter of Asseco Resovia Rzeszów (in club since 2011/12) sealed a new two-year contract with the club.

Polish vice champions will benefit on this as Ticháček is going to be treated as a domestic player in all Polish competitions (currently, Polish rules allow up to three foreigners on court). Therefore, the 33-year-old player will be the second naturalized player in Resovia after Ukrainian Olieg Achrem.

PlusLiga board initially agreed that as from the 2017/2018 season, players with dual citizenship will be treated as foreigners.

Recall that 5 players left Resovia in recent days, while one big name arrived.

Achrem is Belarusian, not Ukrainian.
