After a convincing display in the 1st leg in which PGE Skra Belchatow defeated Asseco Resovia by 3-0 at home court, the boys in gold and black jerseys knew that they needed to win just two sets in the rematch to advance to the finals.
But, Skra did not have an easy job in Rseszow. Now at all…
Asseco Resovia have put everything they had in this match, as they needed a 3-0 or 3-1 win to take the game into the golden set. And, with the fans on their side, the red & white team reached 2-1 lead in sets… But, they could not go any further.
PGE Skra Belchatow won the 4th set, leveled the score to 2-2 and secured a place in the 2016/17 Finals. The 5th set was just a formality, while Skra confirmed their overall victory by winning the tie-break as well – 15:8.
The top scorer of Skra was none other than the former player of Resovia – Bartosz Kurek. Polish volleyball super star scored 23 points this evening.
PGE Skra Belchatow will face Zaksa in the 2016/17 PLusLiga Finals.
