Skra needed a win to recover from losing to the French side Chaumont VB 52 Haute Marne in the 2018 CEV Champions League, three days ago, and also to get a positive impulse before taking part in the 2017 FIVB Club World Championship, next Thursday. For this, Skra could not choose better opponents than the last-placed Dafi Społem Kielce – 3-0 (25-15, 27-25, 25-19).
Skra coach Roberto Piazza made a couple of changes in the lineup by introducing libero Robert Milczarek instead of Kacper Piechocki (not in the protocol for the match) and middle blocker Patryk Czarnowski instead of Karol Kłos.
Bartosz Bednorz scored 15 points for Skra, but a performance of Mariusz Wlazły is also worth mentioning as he poured in 5 aces. The Serbian Tomislav Dokić topped Kielce with 10 points.
