One of the main goals of Lokomotiv was to keep the Serbian outside hitter Marko Ivović. According to his agent, the 2016 FIVB World League MVP will play one more year in Superliga as he renewed the deal with the Siberian team.

In addition to Serbia national team member, Lokomotiv will keep nine more players from the last season’s roster and will compensate the departures of four players soon, the club General Director Roman Stanislavov revealed. The other foreigner, the Pole Fabian Drzyzga will stay as well as the opposite hitter Konstantin Bakun, liberos Roman Martynyuk and Artem Ermakov, middle blockers Aleksandr Tkachev and Ilyas Kurkaev, and outside hitters Aleksey Rodichev, Pavel Zakharov and Sergey Savin.

The Novosibirsk team extended the contract with the Bulgarian head coach Plamen Konstantinov after “calmly disassembling the mistakes and finding out the weak points that showed up during the season”.

Lokomotiv said goodbye to Artem Smolyar, Nikolay Apalikov, Maksim Shulgin and a long-term captain Nikolay Pavlov. As for the latter, the club offered him a position in the management, but he wanted to continue playing.
