Gennady Shipulin, the President of Belogorie, said that he had called 2012 Olympic champion Sergey Tetyukhin to take over the position of the head coach of the club but the legendary player, who retired two years ago (at the age of 42), refused it.
After ending his professional career in the jersey of Belogorie, for which he competed on four occasions (1992-1999, 2001-2006, 2008-2009, and 2011-2018), Tetyukhin became the General Manager of the team from Belgorod.
Shipulin added that, in view of this development of the situation, the Latvian Boris Kolchin will for now remain the head coach.
