Russia at WCH in Italy
Russians, led by Yuri Marichev, could not get through to the semifinals of the competition in Italy, losing to the hosts in the second match of the third round, in group stage.
The Russian team was left without a medal on the World Championship for the first time since 1986.
„Union of coaches and Federation management recognized the performance of the women’s national team at the World Championship unsatisfactory“ – said Shevchenko.

Sorry but the men team were a bigger disappointment, they got no medal this year, not in the World League nor the World Championships. I don’t even think they got to the final 6 in WC. The liberos were terrible and some of the players called in made me scratch my head.
So I think they need to give the women’s team a little slack, especially when they seem to be fine with the men’s team terrible performance.
