BREAKING: Russian VF bans its clubs to travel to Turkey for Champions League matches!

Russian Volleyball Federation has sent a request to the European Volleyball Confederation (CEV) to reconsider the place and date of matches in the Champions League between the Russian and Turkish clubs that are about to be played in Turkey.

Russia’s VF recommends that these games should be played in neutral court due to current explosive situation in terms of security if these matches take place as scheduled.

By that, Russian Federation means on the incident, which occurred on Tuesday at the Turkish-Syrian border, when the Russian plane was shot down by Turkish missile.

The matches that are in question are in the Men’s Champions League: Arkas Spor İzmirBelogorie Belgorod (December 1) and Ziraat Bankası AnkaraDinamo Moscow (December 2).

Recall that Paris Volley – Dinamo Moscow match last week was also re-scheduled because of a terrorist attck in French capital.
