Experienced player stated for Business Online that he has previously informed head coach Vladimir Alekno, and that he is simply unable to play for the national team at the moment.
“I cannot help the team due to family reasons. I have already talked with Alekno and warned him that this might happen. He reacted with understanding. On the other side, the officials of the Russian Volleyball Federation did not have understanding… But, I had no choice. I hope that one day they will understand my decision. I believe that our team can cope with the challenge in front of them and win a ticket for the Olympics. They will most likely play even better without me, because right now I am not able to play my best volleyball. Good luck guys! I will cheer for you from the bottom of my heart,” said Muserskiy for Business-Online.
Recall that the Russian Volleyball Federation called Muerskiy a traitor, while Vladimir Alekno did not want to give any kind of comment.
