Secretary General of the Russian federation, Aleksandr Yaremenko, reacted on Muserskiy’s statement that „everything has been done to end Russian volleyball“, referring to decision of the new head coach of the Men’s NT, Sergey Shlyapnikov, to treat players who refuse to play for the ’Zbornaya’ as foreigners.

„It’s hard for me to comment on this statement, because it’s unclear what Dmitriy had in mind at all. I can say that volleyball in Russia was alive up to all of us – the leaders of the Federation and Muserskiy himself – so, it will be alive afterwards. As for the interview of Sergey Shlyapnikov, many of his words were misinterpreted,“ Yaremenko emphasized.

„The same Dmitriy could not come to the national team for the gathering for the Olympics, and no sanctions against him were carried out. In this case, there is a problem of misunderstanding, people have been misdirected to the information, and we will deal with this,“ Secretary General of the Russian federation recalled situation from last year when Muserskiy refused to appear at the national team’s preparations for the Rio Olypmics.
