RUS W: Kuzyutkin composes roster for 2018 World Championship Qualifiers – Startseva asks to be excused

Russian Women’s Volleyball National Team will fight for its place in the 2018 FIVB World Championship in Japan throughout 2nd Round of the European Qualifications. For this, the head coach Vladimir Kuzyutkin announced roster of 15 players.

When Kuzyutkin revelead preliminary roster to start training in 2017 earlier, there were names of setter Evgeniya Startseva and libero Anna Malova but both decided not to play for „Zbornaya“Startseva only temporarily, while Malova during entire season.

„Anna Malova refused to play not only in the national team, but also in Dinamo Moscow. Evgeniya Startseva asked for a break due to family circumstances. But she should join us at the Yeltsin Cup and will continue to prepare with the national team,“ said Kuzyutkin.

Russia will open Qualifications – Pool A on May 31 against Austria. Besides these two, other participants in the pool are Croatia (hosts), Hungary, Greece and Georgia.

Setters: Vera Vetrova, Ekaterina Pankova;

Receivers/opposites: Yana Shcherban, Kseniya Parubets, Yuliya Kutyukova, Mariya Frolova, Tatyana Kosheleva, Nataliya Goncharova, Irina Vornokova, Ekaterina Efimova, Irina Zaryazhko- Koroleva, Irina Fetisova, Ekaterina Polyakova;

Liberos: Ekaterina Tretyakova, Alla Galkina.
