According to coach Sergey Shlyapnikov, he will not be able to help the team in EuroVolley:
“Unfortunately, Kovalev will not be able to help the team because of the surgery. But I will not give the new name in the team or the full list of the squad. Let it remain secret for the time being because we are not the only who read the Russian media, but also our rivals” said Shlyapnikov and added:
“We have a team for the medal and for Russia, nothing else can be. The Federation has not set any tasks for us, but we must strive for our own goals. “
