Serbia’s wing-spiker Nikola Kovacevic will be participating this year for the ninth time in the FIVB World League. Kovacevic has recorded 95 caps with the Serbian national team in this competition claiming two silver medals in 2008 and 2009 and one bronze in 2010. Kovacevic is expected to play his 100th game in the upcoming edition of the FIVB premier competition.

“The core of the team has not changed,” Kovačević says about the upcoming World League where Serbia will play home and away matches with Russia, Bulgaria and USA. “However, our young players are a lot more experienced now because they have played quality matches with their clubs this season. This means we can rely 100% on them as well. For this reason I think we can improve on our result from last year. We are in a very strong Pool, so we have a tough challenge ahead. But we are the bronze medalists from the last European Championship and so we are not afraid of anyone. I hope that many fans will come to support us in our home matches and that we will not disappoint them.”
