The Executive Committee of the CSV, commanded by the President Rafael Lloreda and attended by the five confederation members, that was held in Rio de Janeiro formalized the decision on the organization of the two continental Olympic qualification tournaments in January.
Colombia (the city of Manizales) will host the Women’s tournament, beating the proposals of Argentina (whose federation President was certain his country will get the organization) and Peru. In addition to the home team, Argentina, Peru and Venezuela will also play the tournament. Brazil is the only female national team from South America that already secured a berth in the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games.
Chile (the capital of Santiago) will organize the Men’s qualifier and will face Colombia, Peru and Venezuela. Chilean federation was the only one to bid for hosting the tournament. Brazil and Argentina have already sealed the two continental tickets for the event in Japan.
