Colombia defeated the South American Men’s Olympic Qualification Tournament favorites No.1 Venezuela in the 2nd round to get the pole position to earn the only remaining continental quota for the 2020 Tokyo Games prior to the last round. The opposite hitter of the winning side Ronald Jiménez was astonishing, putting down 35 points! Cristian Palacios made 5 kill blocks. As for Venezuela, whose way to the Olympics seems very complicated at the moment, Willner Rivas scored 22 points.
By beating Peru, the home side remained in the contention for the Olympics. For such a feat, they will have to beat Colombia in the last round and hope Venezuela will lose to Peru.
