SACCH M: Cruzeiro and UPCN vie for continental title for second year in a row

For the second year in a row, Sada Cruzeiro and UPCN San Juan Voley Club will play for the title of the best men’s club in the continent.



The final of the 2020 Men’s Volleyball South American Club Championship in Contagem, Brazil, will be played between the hosts and also defending champions Cruzeiro and vice-champions UPCN from Argentina.

The team from the Minas Gerais state chased the lead in sets of the Brazilian champions EMS Taubaté Funvic twice to secure themselves to appear in a decider for the gold medal at the Campeonato Sudamericano de Clubes: 3-2 (23-25, 25-16, 21-25, 25-23, 15-13). With 18 points, Argentinean Facundo Conte from Cruzeiro was the top scorer of the match.

UPCN defeated countrymen and also national champions Bolívar Voley in 4 sets and got into to the final for the seventh time on their 10 participations in the event.
