Praia beat Sesc by 3-1 (31-33, 25-17, 25-16, 31-29) in Round 18 of the 2019/20 Superliga Feminina regular season to remain at the top of the charts, having 50 points and only one defeat, which they suffered exactly against the Rio de Janeiro team. So, this win can be considered revenge for the vice-champions. On the other hand, Sesc fell to third place, collecting 45 points (16-2).
Dominican Brayelin Martínez from Praia dominated the match with 34 points on 57 kills (!) of which she scored 12 in the opening set that went deep in the overtime. The fourth set also went into overtime and lasted for as many as 40 minutes. Ana Carolina Silva “Carol” made 8 kill blocks for the winning side. Sesc once again played without Tandara Caixeta. Amanda Francisco was their top scorer with 17 points.
Praia extended the winning streak to 11 games, while the one of Sesc came to an end after 8 games.
