After the penultimate round of the 2020 South American Women’s Volleyball Club Championship in Uberlândia (Brazil), it’s clear that the two Brazilian clubs will decide the winners of the competition in the mutual encounter.

Brazilian champions and vice-champions, Itambé/Minas and Dentil/Praia Clube, will decide the winners of the 2020 Sudamericano de Clubes femenino and the owners of a continental spot at the FIVB Club World Championship in December.

With the sweaty victory over Argentinean titleholders Boca Juniors that came in the tie-break and after the lead in sets of 2-0, the hosts Praia reached the third consecutive triumph (no defeats): 3-2 (25-18, 26-24, 21-25, 22-25, 15-11). The Dominican Brayelin Martínez was chosen as the best player of the match. Losing one point to Boca resulted in handing over the top spot in the charts to the defending champions Minas. However, these two will face for the title on the last day.

In the second game of Day 4, Minas kept the perfect record as well (3-0) and continued without losing a single set in the tournament: 3-0 vs. San Lorenzo. Despite a defeat, Argentinean San Lorenzo secured a second consecutive bronze medal in the competition.
