Argentina was crowned the South American U19 champion for the third time (1996, 2018, and 2022) in its history.

After beating Brazil in the final of this year’s edition of the continental event with a score of 3-0 (25-20, 25-20, and 25-20) in La Paz, Bolivia, ’Las Panteras’ defended the throne and, along with Brazil and the bronze medalists, Chile, earned a slot in the 2023 FIVB World Championship in this age category. Both Argentina and Brazil reached the final undefeated; the latter did so without giving up a set, while Argentina lost two.

Four players of the new continental titleholders were elected in the tournament’s ideal line-up: Bianca Garibaldi (middle blocker), Melany Detzel (setter), Martina Bednarek (opposite hitter), and Milena Margaría (outside hitter).

Argentina’s results in the event:

Argentina – Peru 3-1

Argentina – Chile 3-0

Argentina – Venezuela 3-0

Argentina – Bolivia 3-1

Argentina – Brazil 3-0
