In the ongoing XXXV Women’s South American Championship at the Geraldão Coliseum in Recife, Colombia made a triumphant debut, overpowering Chile in straight sets. The scores, reading 25-10, 26-24, 25-13, highlighted Colombia’s dominant performance. A standout performance was noted by Colombian Amanda Coneo, who registered an impressive 21 points. For Chile, captain Beatriz Novoa was their top scorer, netting 10 points. Chile is gearing up for their third contest, facing Argentina, while Colombia prepares to challenge Peru in their subsequent match.

Separately, the much-anticipated South American classic featuring Brazil against Argentina didn’t disappoint. With the Geraldão Coliseum packed to the brim, Brazil encountered initial resistance from Argentina in the opening set.
