SANTO DOMINGO – In the last game of the opening day of the third NORCECA Pan American Cup Final Six, the Dominican Republic claimed a convincing 3-0 victory over Mexico (25-14, 25-18, 25-11) at the “Ricardo Arias” National Volleyball Pavilion.

Geraldine González spearheaded the Dominican offense with 15 points, supported by Madelin Guillén’s 14 and Vielka Peralta’s 11. For Mexico, Karen Rivera and Grecia Castro scored 12 and 11 points respectively.

In terms of statistics, the Dominican team had the upper hand, outperforming Mexico 35-25 in spikes and 12-2 in blocks.

Mexico’s coach, Nicola Negro, expressed his dissatisfaction with the team’s performance, emphasizing the learning opportunity against a strong team like the Dominican Republic.
