Puerto Rico defed Mexico in a thrilling five-set battle (25-19, 24-26, 25-18, 20-25, 15-13) to claim their third consecutive NORCECA Women’s Final Four title.
The victory, earned in front of an electric home crowd at the Juan Aubin Cruz Abreu Coliseum, also guarantees Puerto Rico a spot in the 2026 NORCECA Women’s Olympic Continental Championship.
Opposite Decelise Champion led Puerto Rico with 22 points, while outside hitter Karla Santos added 19. Setter Wilmarie Rivera, who was later named Most Valuable Player, controlled the match with precision and added 8 points of her own.
Despite strong performances from Samantha Bricio and Sofia Maldonado, Mexico couldn’t overcome Puerto Rico’s edge in key areas, including attacks (65-61), blocks (11-10), and serves (6-5).
Puerto Rico completed the tournament undefeated (3-0), while Mexico earned silver (2-1). Costa Rica secured bronze after sweeping Trinidad and Tobago.
