Round 16 of the 2019/20 Turkish Women’s Volleyball Championship regular season brought clashes of clubs from the top 4 in the charts.

VakıfBank continued their leadership of the 2019/20 Vestel Venus Sultanlar Ligi regular season by defeating Fenerbahçe Opet. The reigning champions bounced back from 0-1 to beat 3rd placed “Fener“ by a 3-1 (24-26, 25-17, 25-18, 25-21) in the big match of Round 16. Swedish Isabelle Haak top-scored for the winning side with 23 points. American Jordan Thompson tallied 19 points for Fenerbahçe, making as many as 52 kills. With the win, VakıfBank extended their victorious series in the competition to 11 games.

There was one more derby in this round. The 4th placed Galatasaray HDI Sigorta nearly made a complete turnaround in the match against the 2nd placed Eczacıbaşı VitrA, who ultimately prevailed in the tie-break.
